DESCRIPTION:Join us for a family-friendly celebration of trees and local nature in Warrington’s Sky Garden, featuring an enchanting performance of TREES – A Tale of the Rootkin, alongside woodland crafts, environmental activities, puppets, face painting and traditional greenwood demonstrations.\nFree, unticketed performances will take place at 11am, 1pm and 2:30pm. Workshops and activities will run from 11am-3pm.\nWhen the selfish and greedy Pleeple begin to destroy the world around them, the ancient Rootkin awaken. Their mission? To help the Pleeple rediscover their connection to nature – and to each other. How? Through trees, of course!\nTrees ground us. They provide shelter for us and warmth for the creatures living within them. They clean our air. They help us exist. Trees communicate using underground networks of mycelium and an ethos of sharing and empathy. Can we learn from what happens both above and below the ground around trees, and become a more caring society that looks after its neighbours and planet?\nPerfect for families, nature lovers and anyone who believes in a little woodland magic, this enchanting performance will pop up in unexpected places, bringing wonder and joy to audiences of all ages.\nBrought to you by Things That Go On Things and The League of Curiosity.\nWritten by Oliver Bishop, designed by Hannah Moseng Staff, with original composition by Jason Singh.\nRunning time: 20 minutes\nRecommended age: 5+\n
