DESCRIPTION:On Sunday, 31st August, the leading outdoor multi-cultural festival, Warrington Mela, will be returning to Warrington.\nYou can expect a day of free street theatre, dance, music, food, and colliding cultures spread across Queens Gardens and Time Square.\nCome along to see giant puppets draped in the world’s first sustainable Sari fabric, created by Manchester’s Nutkhut for the Platinum Jubilee Pageant celebrations in Central London 2022.\nThis year’s theme, “Home,” explores ideas of belonging, identity and community through live performance, creative workshops, and international street food.\nEnjoy a packed programme including a heart-warming performance of TEABREAK by Trigger, Ukrainian and Chinese dance, martial arts and Capoeira demonstrations, walkabout entertainers, and a global food market with dishes from India, Korea, Turkey, Greece, and more.\nThe event is funded by Arts Council England, UK Shared Prosperity Fund, Warrington Council, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, and the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire.
