Whether you are deciding on which subjects to take, or which careers to pursue, Warrington’s ‘one-stop-shop’ careers fair is a great place to explore your options.
The fair – Your Future, Your Choice, Move on! – is taking place on Wednesday 12 October, 4pm to 7.30pm, at Warrington Youth Zone.
This free event is aimed at young people in Warrington, particularly those in school years 9 to 13, and parents and carers.
Organised by the council’s Warrington LiFE careers team, in partnership with The Cheshire and Warrington Pledge, this annual event aims to give young people practical support and information about education, employment and training opportunities open to them, including apprenticeships and traineeships.
Cllr Sarah Hall, cabinet member for children’s services, said: “This event is a great opportunity for young people to gain insight and guidance from a variety of education providers and employers in one place.
“The advice on offer will help when making decisions around subjects to study or careers to pursue and is a really useful step to help you to explore your options. You can find out more about further education, apprenticeships and training opportunities, as well as going to university, volunteer placements, and part time employment.
“I would encourage young people, and their parents and carers, to go along to the Youth Zone to see this fantastic facility for themselves while taking advantage of the range of information and support available.”
This year’s event looking to be the biggest yet with around 70 exhibitors, a broad mixture of employers, colleges, universities, and training providers, along with representatives from the voluntary sector.
