Warrington Market is joining over 100 high streets across the UK in the national Totally Locally Fiver Fest campaign.
The Fiver Fest is running from 11 – 25 March, with over 50 traders offering special £5 promotional offers on a range of products and services throughout the two week campaign.
The aim is to showcase the fantastic independent offer at the market, but also to thank customers for their support and help them during the current cost-of-living crisis.
Cllr Tom Jennings, cabinet member for economic development and innovation, said: “This is a fantastic initiative from independent shops who already add so much to our high streets and contribute significantly to our local economy already.
“With the cost-of-living crisis biting hard, it’s more important than ever that neighbours and businesses look out for each other — if every adult in Warrington spent £5 per week in their local independent shops and businesses, it would generate over £40million per year going directly into our local economy, which helps to secure jobs, generate growth, and keep our high streets thriving.”
Warrington Market’s Rob Leicester, from Warrington Fruit and Veg, and trader representative said: “Fiver Fest is a great opportunity for all traders to work together to show how we really value every customer who shops with us and makes a real difference. We’re proud to support our local community and we all look forward to sharing some fantastic fiver fest bargains with everyone”.
