Held at Technically Brilliant Gallery in Golden Square, Spotlight Three, until the end
of July, continues the not-for-profit gallery’s mission to showcase the work of a
range of contemporary artists and makers in Warrington. The latest exhibition
heralds the beginning of the summer programme with artists residencies,
workshops and a major retrospective all taking place throughout July and August,
in addition to the celebration of LGBTQ+ artists for Pride month.
Jo Bramham-Smith, gallery co-owner and in-house artist commented “ We are
thrilled to bring the work of many of our favourite artists – many of them local – to
a Warrington audience. Visitors can pick up an original piece of art created by
our talented artists as well as meet some of them when they join us in store for
residencies over the summer. We also run art exploration workshops where you
can learn about artists and then be inspired to have a go at creating your own art
to take home. Myself and the other in-house artist, Matt also run workshops where
we pass on our knowledge of the techniques needed to create your own piece of
art. A retrospective of several of our regular artists will open in August and we
continue to stock beautiful, original collections by our makers. And all of this is
happening in Golden Square, Warrington.”
One of the artists taking up a residency in August is Simon Hardcastle and his
stunning stained glass pieces are currently on display at the gallery. Commenting
on the upcoming collaboration with Technically Brilliant Gallery, Simon said “ I am
delighted to be able to share the process of making my stained glass with visitors
to Golden Square this Summer. My residencies on August 2nd, 4th and 23rd & 25th
August will showcase these ever changing pictures of light and I encourage
people to come along to see my work being created in the gallery. “
Other residencies include the craft of Jackie Warburton and painting by Jo
Bramham-Smith, Matt George and Judith Booth with more to be announced
throughout the summer.
Technically Brilliant Gallery is not-for-profit gallery selling on behalf of artists and
any profits are used to run accessible workshops for young adults, especially
those with autism, teaching animation, game design, model making and art in a
safe, inclusive space.
