Warrington Time Square is set to host the highly anticipated Proms in the Square as it returns for the second year running.
The leisure and retail destination, located in the heart of the town centre, will host the vibrant event during May Bank Holiday weekend on Sunday 26th May, as it promises to be a celebration of music, community spirit and cultural diversity.
It will feature a line-up of talented performers who will entertain audiences of all ages in the impressive outdoor space.
Warrington Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Leisure and Community, Cllr Tony Higgins, said: “Proms in the Square was a hugely popular event when it was held last summer, and we are delighted to be hosting it once again. It’s a wonderful celebration of our local talent and the community spirit that we have in Warrington – it brings people together through music and showcases the rich cultural diversity of our town.
“We really hope that people will come along and enjoy an afternoon and evening in Time Square while being entertained by some truly brilliant musicians.”
Proms in the Square will also showcase professional musicians from across the region. Headlining the event is The Untold Orchestra, renowned for their captivating performances that blend classical music with contemporary flair.
They’ll be joined by Twisted Tubes, a brass ensemble known for their dynamic renditions of popular classics and modern hits, who will also perform, and their infectious energy and innovative arrangements will have visitors tapping their feet and swaying to the beat.
The award-winning Katumba Drummers will bring a unique and exhilarating sound to the stage, as well as Warrington Brass Band, a local favourite known for their stirring renditions of traditional brass band repertoire. Established more than a century ago, they continue to uphold the proud tradition of brass band music in the North West.
The event is happening during Warrington’s Music Month, organised by Warrington BID, which sees musical events taking place across the town throughout May.
Cllr Higgins added: “Proms in the Square is a testament to Warrington’s vibrant cultural scene and our commitment to providing enriching experiences for our residents and visitors alike. We’re thrilled to bring back this beloved event for its second year, offering a showcase of exceptional talent and a celebration of our community’s passion for music.”
