Warrington Borough Council’s neighbourhoods team is running its Christmas Toy Appeal again this year, making it the tenth year of supporting families in need at Christmas.
The toy appeal helps struggling families by ensuring children have a gift to open on Christmas Day. The team is asking for donations of new books, new toys, gift vouchers, toiletries, sweets and chocolates, suitable for children up to the age of 16.
All of the families who receive a present are referred to the service by health and wellbeing partners across the borough.
Residents can drop off their donations at Orford Community Hub on Festival Avenue, by Friday 2 December.
Cllr Tony Higgins, cabinet member for leisure and community, said: “Over the last nine years, our communities have supported each other by donating gifts to children of families who are facing financial hardship.
“The current cost of living crisis has only added to the challenges being faced by many people, so this year it would be fantastic if local people could once again donate a present to help ensure every child in Warrington has a gift to open on Christmas Day, giving them a festive season to remember.”
