Better by Bus – Explore Warrington by Bus!

The latest phase of our Better By Bus initiative, which sees cheaper fares, improved and enhanced timetables as well as free concessionary pass travel, is underway.

Single fares are capped at £2 for adults and £1 for young people aged 5-18, until 2025, as part of our Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP).

Young people wishing to head over to the town centre and Youth Zone over the Summer break will be able to get there for just £1. Simply bring proof of your age and travel at any time of the day.

A family of two adults and two children will also be able to travel at any time of the day for less – it’ll cost families just £6 each way.

Young people and families can also pop down to Time Square this July and August, as the town centre will come alive with fun and activity, with a packed calendar of live performances, art, music, activity and colour.

And for those travelling a little further afield this Summer, Warrington’s Own Buses has also launched an exciting new CAT5/X5 service from Sunday 23 July, which travels from Warrington to Manchester Airport for just £2 each way.

Warrington Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for transport, Cllr Hans Mundry, said: “The latest set of improvements to our bus services launched at the start of the month, which is perfect timing for young people and families to take advantage of the cheaper fares during the Summer holidays.

“Young people aged 5-18 will be able to travel anywhere in Warrington for just £1, opening up a Summer of activity across our borough.

“From going to the cinema, going swimming or rock climbing, heading out for a meal, exploring one of our parks or simply going round to your friend’s house, there are so many places to go and things to do in Warrington this Summer for just £1!
