CELEBRATE THE FESTIVE SEASON AT TIME SQUARE

Time Square is set to become the heart of Warrington’s festive celebrations this December, with a packed programme of events designed to bring people together and support local businesses during the Christmas season.

Events led by Warrington Council will take place every Sunday throughout December, with highlights including animatronic Christmas stockings, a magical living snowglobe, enchanting performances by snow queens and festive surprises for visitors of all ages. Alongside these, the town’s popular Makers Market will host additional events on Saturday, 7 and Sunday 8 December, offering a seasonal twist on its usual selection of unique gifts and local produce.

The festive fun ramps up on Thursday, 19 December, when Time Square will host a Christmas party featuring live entertainment and activities, creating a lively atmosphere as families and friends gather to celebrate.

Councillor Laura Watson, Cabinet Member for Economy, Growth and Quality Work at Warrington Borough Council, said: “It’s fantastic to see the square come alive with such a varied programme of events. These activities not only bring people together, but also showcase the incredible businesses that call Time Square home.

“As Christmas approaches, the final weekend before the big day promises even more activities, including funfair rides, festive stalls, live music from Twisted Tubes and an interactive snow globe experience. It’s going to be brilliant!”

Local businesses in Time Square are stepping up to make the season even more special. Blossom, celebrating its first Christmas in the square, is offering seasonal menus, while The Botanist is hosting activities such as wreath-making workshops and festive bingo nights alongside its popular Christmas menu. Warrington Market is also joining in with a series of winter socials and a special New Year’s Eve celebration, courtesy of Midnight Soul Sisters.

For those looking to enjoy a quieter moment while out Christmas shopping, Costello’s is serving mulled wine and festive drinks, perfect for catching up with friends. Cineworld is adding to the festive offering with screenings of seasonal films ideal for cosy family outings.

Cllr Watson added: “This year, more than ever, we want to encourage people to support local businesses. By visiting Time Square, you’re not just enjoying great food, drink and entertainment – you’re helping to sustain our local economy and ensure these businesses continue to grow.”

With a wide range of events and activities on offer, Time Square is set to become a real focal point for Warrington’s festivities. Whether it’s family-friendly entertainment, a festive meal or simply a quiet drink with friends, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
