Christmas is coming! And what better way to start the festive season than with a whole weekend of Christmas activity and events taking place across Warrington Town Centre.
Christmas in Warrington is all set to launch in a carnival of festive fun over the weekend of Saturday November 26th and Sunday November 27th. So set the weekend aside because Santa Claus is coming to town like never before.
There’s something for everyone on both days including Christmas artisan markets throughout the main central streets, choir performances, fairground rides, light projections, the return of the At No.25 Christmas installation and even a team of Brazilian drummers who will lead the Lantern Parade.
Everyone is invited and most activities are free including a lantern making workshop followed by the Lantern Parade. With lanterns lit and held aloft, the Parade will march across to the Town Hall on Saturday 26th where at 6pm the Town Hall will be illuminated in what promises to be an unmissable light projection extravaganza from the acclaimed Double Take Projections Company.
Supplementing Warrington’s already fantastic offering of shops, restaurants, cafés and bars. Independent Street will champion local independent businesses by bringing the Artisan Market across the four traditional high streets of Warrington Town Centre, Sankey Street, Horsemarket Street, Buttermarket Street and Bridge Street which will be filled with a festive array of 60 carefully selected artisan stalls.
So, expect amazing local food – freshly baked produce from micro bakeries, tasty street food, epic cakes, award winning Warrington based pies, fresh roasted coffee, Indian treats and delicacies, artisan gin, olives, Turkish delights and deli. There will also be beautiful, handcrafted jewelry, unique arts, craft, hand poured candles, cheese truckles, mulled wine, local photography, dog treats and much more.
All of the festive fun is brought to you by Warrington Business Improvement District (BID) and partners, Golden Square, Warrington Market, Culture Warrington, the Warrington Lions and Independent Street.
All the fun and frolics will start on Saturday 26 November from 10am – 7pm and recommence on Sunday November 27th. between 11am and 5pm

‘The BID have been working on the events plan for Christmas in Warrington since April, our aim is to make Warrington the people’s number one choice for shopping, entertainment, food & drink over the festive period. It is important that we support our local businesses by making Warrington a destination of choice and we deliver a haze of activities that are accessible to all and in these times of austerity we provide some free activities for families to enjoy.
This event is just the start of some big events we have planned for 2023 in our Town Centre’

‘We are so excited to be once again working with Andrea Morley at Warrington BID to collaborate on The Christmas in Warrington weekend. An event like this is a great way to showcase local talent whilst also being a fantastic family day out, discovering the unique selection of foods and crafts on offer. Experience the festive entertainment in town and buy that unique Christmas gift whilst supporting our small independent businesses. Our event will be packed full of entertainment, live music and fun for the whole family…. See you there!’

We’ve been busy planning a festive treat for Warrington’s communities this Christmas with three amazing cultural programs in partnership with the BID. I’m delighted to welcome back our Christmas space At No.25 in Golden Square which will be open daily throughout the festive period, this year with additional workshops and performances.
Over the next few weeks, we will be out and about in the community leading lantern making workshops to encourage families to join our lantern parade in the town Centre which will build the momentum for a magical Christmas projection on the Town Hall. It’s been another challenging year for us all so I hope these events will spread some festive cheer!
