Chris McCausland: Yonks!
From Strictly to the stage for one of the UK’s fastest rising comedians
Comedian Chris McCausland has announced another show in Warrington due to high demand for tickets and his rapidly growing public profile.
The stand-up comic, actor, presenter and reality TV star will be performing two back-to-back gigs at Parr Hall on Sunday, 11 May.
That includes a new matinee at 4.30pm that has just gone on sale, while the existing evening show has almost sold out.
Chris’s star has been rising for some time – having appeared on TV comedy favourites like Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News For You, Would I Lie to You?, QI and The Last Leg.
But more recently, the 47-year-old has warmed hearts and won over new fans as one of the breakout stars of the current series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Paired with professional dancer Dianne Buswell, Chris is the popular series’ first blind contestant and has earned plaudits for upending stereotypes about who can dance.
When he finally takes off his dancing shoes and returns to his biggest tour, Chris’s show will touch upon his new status as an ‘overnight success’ – even though he’s been doing stand-up for ‘bloody yonks’.
Chris has actually been a comic now for two decades, but – as well as Strictly – recent things like a starring role on the reality series, Wonders of the World I Can’t See, and winning Mastermind (chosen specialist subject; Pearl Jam) certainly haven’t hurt!
