Family Art Workshop
Join artist Michelle Leigh at Warrington Museum as she guides you around her exhibition to reveal how objects from the Museum’s collection became the starting point for her paintings.
Can you spot the objects she used? She will share the sketches she made in the museum and explain how she developed them into the finished artworks currently on display.
Each participant will receive a handmade sketchbook – known by artists as a ‘looking log’ – and a pencil where they will be invited to find their own favourite object from the Museum to sketch, or perhaps try their hand at one of Michelle’s paintings.
Visitors will then head to their studio space, where they can transform their sketches into mixed-media artworks using felt-tip pens, coloured pencils, watercolours and collage materials in a demonstration of how colour can create different moods.
