Remembrance Sunday 2026

A Remembrance Sunday service will take place on Sunday 8 November at the War Memorial Bridge Foot.

To ensure the safety of all attendees, there will be the following traffic restrictions in place throughout the morning: 

8am-12noon Full closure of Bridge Foot Roundabout. 

8am-12noon Riverside Retail Park, Wharf Industrial Estate, Tanning Court Industrial Estate – No Access or Exit. 

9am-12noon Sankey Street, Legh Street (From its junction of Bath Street to Sankey Street) Springfield Street, Palmyra Square South, Palmyra Square North, Bold Street, Suez Street, Rylands Street, Barbauld Street 

Please note, Bath Street Health and Wellbeing Centre will be open and accessible from Midland Way onto Legh Street. Diversions will be in place; we advise you to plan journeys in advance, as delays will be inevitable.
