Go green to start your day – why not leave the car behind and make the most of the #SuperSummerService being run by Warrington Borough Council over the summer. Featuring enhanced timetables, cheap fares and (ideal for grandparents looking after the little ones), unlimited concessionary pass use, this is the ideal way to explore Warrington.
If the weather is good, beautiful Bank Park must surely be on the top of your list. Opened to the public in 1893 as Warrington’s first public park, it remains a firm favourite today and is home to the famous Golden Gates and Town Hall. This fantastic free facility in the heart of the town centre boasts year-round beautiful blooms, a boredom-busting children’s play area, an exercise park for adults, a ball court, plus plenty of places to put down jumpers for goalposts. Pick a shady spot to set up camp for the day, pack a picnic and enjoy!
If the weather is not so good (or too hot!) for your family day out, take the short five minute stroll from the Bus Station to explore ‘Summer Fair on the Square’ in The Old Fishmarket. Come rain or shine, the canopy of the old market building means you can always enjoy being outdoors. The Fair is open daily until 4th September, 10am to 6pm, it could be the perfect treat for the kids having waited patiently in line to buy their new school shoes!
If the weather really isn’t on your side, Cineworld is guaranteed to keep the whole family entertained. In the heart of Time Square, did you know your Cineworld ticket gives you 8 hours free parking in the nearby multi-story, if you decide the bus isn’t for you!
