Make the Most of Half Term in Warrington

October half term has arrived and it’s not just Halloween activities on offer in Warrington town centre.

The kids need entertaining, and you can do it all for free at Warrington Museum and Art Gallery with temporary exhibitions and workshops. Catch ‘Robert Watson: 48 Hours in New York’ before Sunday, October 26th or explore exhibitions ‘Let’s Draw’ and ‘Marco Frezza: Measuring Ghosts’ all week.

Also, if they are between eight and 12, take part in the abstract art workshop ‘What Does a Feeling Look Like?’ with Marco Frezza on Thursday, October 30th. Plus, the little ones, aged zero to five, can learn all about the joys of Autumn in ‘The Story of Penelope Pumpkin’ in two sessions at 11am and 1.30pm on Friday, October 31st.

Parr Hall is hosting shows for all ages, covering your younger and older children this school holiday. On Monday, October 27th, follow Danny and Dino in ‘The Dinosaur That Pooped a Rock Show’ based on McFly’s Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter’s best-selling book.

Treat your teens to a live show, throughout the week Parr Hall has many on offer suited to the older students. UK ragga-metal legends Skindrid are hitting the stage on Thursday, October 30th or watch the incredible Antarctic Monkeys on Friday, October 31st.

The weekend is also packed with shows to choose from, take your pick from ‘Greatest Hits of Motown – How Sweet it is’ at Parr Hall and ‘Comedy Store’ at Winmarleigh House on Saturday, November 1st. Then Sunday, November 2nd will see ‘A Night at the Darts’ take over Parr Hall as legends Luke Humphries, Luke Littler, Ricky Evans and Robert Thornton take on members of the audience and each other in a night of unmissable darts.

For those who are more focused on the scary side of the week, Queens Gardens will be hosting ‘Halloween in the Gardens: A Night of Music & Fire’ on Wednesday, October 29th. Enjoy a fantastic fire-lit concert with all the family, it will include spooky musical performances and special effects all hosted by compere Lulu Simons.

Warrington Youth Zone junior and senior members have got their own exclusive parties to look forward to. On Thursday, October 30th from 4pm to 8pm will be their ‘Junior Halloween Party’ and on Friday, October 31st from 5pm to 9pm will be their ‘Senior’s Spooky Rave.’ Join in for a safe and fun way to celebrate the haunted holiday.

Plus, learn how to make your own themed bath bomb at LUSH in Golden Square Shopping Centre in their ‘Punkin Pumpkin Bath Bomb Workshop’ from Friday, October 31st to Sunday, November 2nd.
