Warrington Weekend Wonderland on 26th and 27th November will be playing host to a full festive fabulous artisan market across the traditional high streets of Warrington Town Centre; Bridge Street, Buttermarket Street and Horsemarket Street, supplied by Independent Street Markets.
So, expect amazing local food – freshly baked produce from micro bakeries, tasty street food, epic
cakes, award winning Warrington based pies, fresh roasted coffee, Indian treats and delicacies,
artisan gin, olives, Turkish delights and deli. There will also be beautiful, handcrafted jewellery,
unique arts, craft, hand poured candles, cheese truckles, mulled wine, local photography, dog treats
and much more.
The market will be open from 10am – 7pm on the Saturday and 11am – 5pm on the Sunday, and just think of the places along the market route that you can visit too!
Bridge Street is home to Mamars at The Old Bank – if you haven’t been here before, you are missing out! They have freshly baked savoury and sweet artisan breads and cakes, plus if you like cheese, you will think you’re in cheese heaven, and don’t forget they also sell the perfect wine pairings. Whilst they’re not usually open on Sundays, they’re making an exception for the Weekend Wonderland and will be open in line with the artisan market stalls both days. There’s also the super-stylish Babba restaurant, serving mouth-watering Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine, quirky cocktails and wonderful wines.
Buttermarket Street, once home to the town’s dairy market, has well and truly put butter back on the menu with the recently opened Grand Patisserie UK with fantastic fresh desserts, handmade birthday cakes and authentic Japanese cheesecakes. Or if you’d prefer liquid refreshment, why not try The Firkin Tap or The Lower Angel, or the ever-popular Wetherspoons?
On Horsemarket Street, you’re spoiled for choice between Caffe Carusso – a firm family favourite in Warrington for many years – or Hideaway Café Ristorante serving home made good food to eat in or take away. Or will you choose Coco di Mama’s perfect pasta as your winter warmer?
As you follow the Lantern Parade down Sankey Street to the Town Hall and watch the spectacular light and sound projection at 6pm on Saturday 26th, why not let someone else do the washing up and book a table at one of the many exceptional eateries! There’s Carlton Café & Bistro, Mr Lau’s Dim Sum Bar & Restaurant, Emily’s, Gourmand!, Cinnamon Lounge or The White Hart to name but a few. Or you could head round the corner to Palmyra Square where you’ll find Grill on the Square, Vandal, Bold Street House, San Lorenzo and Las Ramblas. We are SO lucky to live where we live!
Warrington Weekend Wonderland will be wonderful!
