We’re not letting a bit of rain stop the Warrington Weekend Wonderland spirit.
While we’ve had to make some adjustments to the original plans, there’s still plenty happening across the town to get you into the festive mood.
What's New This Weekend
Independents Markets at Golden Square
Thanks to Ian and his team, the Independents Markets have found a new home at Golden Square. You can shop local, enjoy festive treats and discover the perfect gifts – all under cover.
Time Square Festivities Across Local Businesses
The fun is spreading! Warrington Market and other nearby businesses will be hosting elements of the Time Square celebrations. Don’t be surprised to see the Twisted Tubes performing while you sip your pint, or even spot the Grinch popping by during your meal.
Pop-Up Performances
Katumba Drummers and Silk Street Jazz Band will now be delighting visitors with pop-up performances on Saturday. Keep an eye out as you explore the town centre – you never know when you’ll stumble upon a show!
Santa’s Grotto in Hatters Row
Culture Warrington’s magical Grotto is ready for visitors. Santa is excited to meet families this weekend, with spaces still available for Saturday and Sunday. Don’t miss out on this enchanting experience.
Why the Changes?
While the weather forecast has improved, the setup conditions for outdoor events like the markets remained tricky. The safety of visitors and practicality for setup had to come first. As for Walk The Plank’s firelit concert, the wet and windy forecast sadly made it unsafe to proceed – a tough call, but the right one.
Warrington’s Community Spirit Shines Bright
Pulling everything together last minute hasn’t been easy, but it’s been incredible to see the Warrington community come together to make it all happen. Shops, bars and restaurants across the town are embracing the festive cheer, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy this weekend.
What's Next?
If the weather improves, we’ll move the markets back outdoors on Sunday – fingers crossed for blue skies!
Thank you for your support and understanding as we’ve adapted these plans. Christmas in Warrington isn’t cancelled – it’s just getting started. We can’t wait to see you out and about this weekend, celebrating the season together.
