What’s on in Warrington? Where to eat and drink during Warrington Weekend Wonderland.

What’s on in Warrington? Regular readers of our blog will know the answer to this – there’s LOTS on
in Warrington!

We are really excited for Warrington Weekend Wonderland on 26th and 27th of November which will
feature a full festive fabulous artisan market across the three traditional high streets of Warrington
Town Centre; Bridge Street, Buttermarket Street, and Horsemarket Street. You can enjoy choir
performances, a Christmas light & sound show, A visit from Father Christmas, the return of the ‘At
No.25’ Christmas installation and even a team of Brazilian drummers who will lead the Lantern
Parade from Market Gate to the Town Hall for an incredible light and sound show at 6pm on 26 th
November.

So why not plan to spend some time in the town centre over the weekend and book yourself
somewhere nice for breakfast, lunch, or dinner?

‘Breakfast like a King’ is the saying and you could start your Weekend Wonderland with a hearty
breakfast in Warrington’s multi-award winning market. Choose from Two Brothers Coffee, Café at
the End of the Universe, or Wholesome Junkies to name but a few, and who knows, if the weather is
nice you might even get to sit outside (bring your big coat)! There’s no need to book and although it
can get busy at peak times, there is lots of seating.

If you like cheese and wine and artisan breads, you’ll love Mamars at The Old Bank on Bridge Street.
Open in line with the artisan market stalls for Weekend Wonderland, to book a table email
[email protected] and it’s worth mentioning they hold community events most Tuesdays.
They also have a selection of breadmaking classes available on their website www.mamars.co.uk
which would make mouthwatering Christmas gifts – it’s the gift that keeps giving!

If you haven’t tried the super-stylish Babba restaurant on Bridge Street, why not book a
booth to sample the terrific Turkish cuisine? Again, booking is recommended at
www.babbarestaurant.co.uk and it’s also worth mentioning that they have a year-round two-course

lunch menu of just £12.90pp.

Caffe Carusso on Horsemarket Street has been a firm family favourite and a fixture of Warrington for
many years. Serving a caffe menu throughout the day and a fantastic a la carte menu in the
evenings, this place gets booked up quickly so make sure you reserve your table by calling 01925
416921 or email [email protected] (and don’t tell anyone but they’ve just released their
Christmas menu too, available from 14th November to 30th December).

Just around the corner, you’ll find Dorado Lounge in the old post office building – your home from
home and time to rest your feet as they wait on you with delicious drinks and freshly cooked food.
They also have board games for guests both young and young-at-heart, and their aim is to make sure
every customer leaves happy. They also accommodate our furry canine companions as well! So if
you’re thinking of bringing the dog, this is right up your street. To book, email
[email protected] and you can browse their menu at www.thelounges.co.uk/dorado.

Perhaps you’ll go for the perfect pizza in Parlour Bar and Eatery in Time Square?
This open, airy New York-style eatery – new to Time Square for autumn 2022 – is proving very
popular with locals, visitors, and puppers alike. That’s right, they run a dog-friendly environment
which is great if you’re thinking of bringing your pup with you!

If you’re hungry whilst reading this, we’re sorry (not sorry) because the hand-stretched dough is
beautiful and the menu has a range of traditional and unusual toppings – we loved the ‘Bee-Sting’
which is topped with pepperoni, nduja, and spicy honey! Plus, they have a full and varied drinks
menu, so if all this has tickled your tastebuds and has your tummy rumbling, you can book with them
by emailing [email protected]. Plus to complete that New York vibe, they have live DJs
every Friday and Saturday.

Or how about next door and The beautiful Botanist? Their carefully curated cocktails, craft ales, the
waterfall! What’s not to love, if you add a hanging kebab into the mix (our fave) you’ve got a
recipe for a pretty perfect post-lantern parade.

We’d write more but we have to go now, we’re hungry – We Are Warrington, and Warrington
Weekend Wonderland will be wonderful!
