Spring into Spring!
There’s a wealth of stuff to see and do in Warrington this March, and it needn’t cost the earth.
Take a pic
Warrington Museum & Art Gallery has a fantastic photography exhibition by local photographer, Robert Watson; entitled ’Wyrd’, we’re as excited to see his exhibition of work captured in Manchester, London, Paris and…Blackpool. Robert is back exhibiting at the venue where he first made his name as the winner of theopen exhibition at the 2018 Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival (WCAF). ‘Wyrd’ is available to view between 10 February and 16 April. They also have the ‘Ossie Clark x Little Nell’ exhibition which is running until 26th March; Little Nell pays tribute to Warrington’s famous designer; plus don’t miss the No 7 Studio Showcase for a glimpse of the best work of current studio artists, or the stunningly beautiful work by Jasmir Creed ‘Utopolis’, a collection of urban alienation and the contemporary transcultural in urban environments.
Take to the stage
Head on over to the Pyramid & Parr Hall for entertainment including ‘Tim Peake – My Journey into Space’, or how about an Evening with Everton Legends, or an evening with 80s legend Paul Young. And whilst we’re on the subject of 80s, there are a few tickets left for the ultimate trip down memory lane with ‘80s Live!’ on Friday 24th March. Hurry though, it’s almost a sell-out. Sneaking in right at the start of April is the ever-popular Comedy Store and whilst we want to tell you about what’s on in March, we don’t want you having FOMO if you miss out on the 1st April performance. Tickets are available online and we’ve seen rising stars such as Jason Manford and John Bishop tread the boards here -before they were famous – and all for the bargain price of £18.75pp including booking fees.
Take time to browse
The second Sunday of the month sees a return of Warrington’s very own Makers Market outside our award-winning market. This is on Sunday 12th March and will feature a wide selection of the finest local makers, bakers, crafters and so many more. Who knows you might find that perfect gift for that special lady in your life, ahead of Mother’s Day on 19th March.
Take a chance
Why not book tickets to the ‘Non Stop Music Quiz – ‘Paddy’s Day Warm Up’ in Warrington Market on Thursday 16th March. A sell-out last year, the non-stop music is back with a live DJ, this interactive quiz is SO much fun – and you could win a £50 bar tab for your party.
Then if the warm-up gives you a taste for more, on Friday 17th March, why not head on over to Flanagan’s Irish Bar for a St Patrick’s Day to remember, or you could continue the party by heading down to Bridge Street to Dead Eyes, Feathers or The Grand.
