Springing into action
Lighter nights and warmer days; it really does feel like Spring has sprung and summer is just round the corner, it’s inspired us to spring from the sofa into the town centre in search of inspiration for you!
Family First
We’re firm believers that family fun needn’t cost the earth, so to enjoy the evening sunshine, why not head to beautiful Bank Park which wraps itself around our Town Hall. There’s a fantastic children’s play park, an exercise park for adults, a ball court plus plenty of places to play ball games or for the little ones to simply run off some steam before bed. Don’t forget to stop and admire the beautiful blooms – you could even create a quiz for the kids, asking them to spot certain flowers or landmarks – could your budding artist do a drawing challenge or will you go old skool with a game of ‘I Spy’.
All Square(s)
If you’re in need of a little assistance, don’t forget there’s free school uniform on offer at Warrington Foodbank located by Primark in Golden Square between 10am and 2pm, Tuesday to Saturday. What a fantastic initiative, not only does it help the family funds stretch further, but recycling is good for the environment too. Similarly, if you’re able to offer assistance, click here to see what help is needed by the Foodbank.
Or if you’re after bagging a bargain, why not bounce across town to the newly re-opened Gravity in Time Square – if you have young children their parent & toddler sessions start from just £6 – for both of you. If your children are older, did you know they have their Unlimited Tuesdays offer where you pay £12.95pp to bounce for up to FOUR hours; that’s the same price as a one hour session and we imagine your kids will sleep very well after that! Definitely a good way to backfill any future teacher strike days, let the kids bounce away while you get your laptop out. Click here to explore their website.
If your children have pocket money to part with, the Young Traders Market makes a welcome return to Time Square on Saturday 20th May, click here for more details or to inspire future budding entrepreneurs. And whilst not exactly out in the fresh air, don’t forget superb Cineworld who offer Family Tickets where adults pay kids’ prices, or Movies for Juniors where adults and kids alike pay from just £2.50 per ticket. Click here for listing and don’t forget to validate your car park ticket for free parking for all Cineworld customers.
May your glasses be topped up, and your bellies full!
Whilst we’ve looked at ways you can entertain the kids, we know Warrington has lots of things to do and see over these long weekends for grown ups to treat themselves too. Staying with Time Square there’s our award-winning Market with over 20 independent food and drink retailers, or why not book yourself into The Botanist with their marvellous menu including their famous hanging kebabs and specially curated cocktails.
Over in Golden Square , experience an authentic Brazillian Churrasco dining experience at the fantastic Rio Brazillian Steakhouse and we hear very good things about this newest addition to the Warrington restaurant scene.
However if you prefer your R&R with a little more get-up-and-go, don’t forget there’s Superbowl UK in Golden Square, or if the weather is bad and you’re climbing the walls to get out and do something, why not literally climb the walls at the Northwest Face Climbing Centre on Winwick Road who have a variety of offers on throughout the week.
Whether you want to spend money or not, and whether the weather is bad or wall-to-wall sun, Warrington will always put the spring in your step.
