GET READY TO SLAY!
Golden Square Shopping Centre is turning up the fabulousness with the announcement of the headlining acts for Glitter at Warrington Pride 2024.
Get ready to sashay, shantay, and slay as two fierce queens straight from the iconic runway of RuPaul’s Drag Race will visit the town on Saturday, June 8th as part of the annual celebrations.
Season 4 winner Danny Beard and the sensational Tia Kofi, who was recently crowned RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs. the World winner, will take to the stage to perform individually at the event, which is predicted to be a sell-out.
Ian Cox, Golden Square’s Centre Director, said: “We’re bringing the glitter, the glam and all of the sass to Golden Square for Warrington Pride 2024. Danny Beard and Tia Kofi are ready to ‘werk it’, and we can’t wait to see them perform.”
Warrington Pride is set to make its much-welcomed return to the town centre next month with an emphasis on diversity and community inclusion.
Building on the success of last year’s event, the 2024 edition will take place as part of Pride Month, with the support of the popular shopping destination, as well as Warrington Borough Council, Warrington BID, Warrington Market, Culture Warrington, Warrington Youth Zone, University of Chester, LiveWire, HC Promotions and United Utilities.
It aims to bring the community together in the spirit of acceptance and solidarity and will feature a programme of activities, including exciting events, thought-provoking talks, performances and creative showcases.
Tickets go on sale this Friday at 11am (May 10th) for the Glitter event are just £5 plus booking fee, in order to make the event as accessible as possible.
Ian added: “Get ready to paint the town rainbow and join us at Golden Square for the most fabulous party of the year!”
Warrington Pride 2024 will also feature live music, performances, workshops and a parade through the streets of the town, as well as hosting a variety of vendors and community organisations providing resources and support for LGBTQIA+ individuals and their allies.
