Every year the haunted holiday comes along, the creative costumes come out and the ghostly parties begin. This year, Warrington has a line-up of safe and exciting events throughout half term to celebrate Halloween weekend.
Louie’s Pizza in the Cookhouse at Warrington Market is hosting a Halloween classic, pumpkin carving. Sessions take place at 4pm on Tuesday, October 28th and Thursday, October 30th, with plenty of pizza to enjoy while you carve your creations.
Half term is also packed with creative activities, including a Halloween Comic Book Workshop with Marc Jackson on Thursday, October 30th. Budding artists can learn how to create characters and stories for comics, all with a creepy twist.
If you’re a dinosaur fan, then head down to Time Square on Thursday, October 30th between 11am and 3pm for some roaring fun. Spookysaurus shows and walkabouts will take over the square and you can even meet the dino babies.
For little ones, Warrington Museum and Art Gallery is running an interactive sensory story session for children aged five and under on Friday, October 31st. The Story of Penelope Pumpkin celebrates autumn with storytelling and seasonal crafts.
The same day sees the return of GO WILD, with the Animal Teach Team running a free Halloween Camp at Warrington Market from 10am to 3pm, where families can meet snakes, snails and other creatures. Plus, Golden Square Shopping Centre is offering a safe and fun trick or treat as retailers hand out sweets from 10am to 2pm.
As well, from 12pm to 3pm, see pumpkin heads and Wednesday Addams followed by the Sanderson sisters from Hocus Pocus will be visiting from 3pm to 6pm.
Another option is a frightfully delightful afternoon tea at Warrington Town Hall with the Friends of the Town Hall. Secure you place on one of the two sessions at 12.30pm and 4pm on Friday, October 31st.
The grand finale of the holiday will be Batida Rio’s Zombie Walk on Saturday, November 1st from Sankey Street to Time Square. Setting off from the Golden Square entrance at 6pm and finishing outside Warrington Market at 7pm, the parade will be raising money for local charity Warrington Speak Up.
From pumpkin carving and story sessions to dinosaurs and zombie parades, Warrington has something for everyone this Halloween. Take your pick and enjoy a frightfully fun half term.
