Get ready for a day of music, dancing, incredible food and entertainment as Warrington Mela returns to the town centre on Sunday, September 6th, with Warrington BID once again supporting this colourful celebration of the cultures and communities that make up our town.
Following the success of last year’s event, Warrington Mela is back with a packed day celebrating the cultures and communities that make up our town, with a colourful parade, live performances, activities for children, international food and lots more to discover.
The celebrations will begin at 10.30am with a parade from Warrington Town Hall, bringing music, colour and energy through the town centre before arriving at Queens Gardens, where the main Mela will take place from 11am until 4.30pm.
Queens Gardens will be filled with entertainment throughout the day, with a mix of community and professional performers taking to the stage and Dolly and Rocky joining the celebrations.
Families can look forward to a children’s fairground, circus workshops and balloon modelling, while a bustling market will feature a variety of stalls to browse throughout the day.
Food is always a big part of Warrington Mela too, and visitors will be able to eat their way around the world, with Indian, Korean, Turkish, Greek and Chinese cuisine among the flavours on offer.
The full programme is still to come, with even more performances, entertainment and activities set to be announced ahead of the event.
Warrington Mela brings people of all ages and backgrounds together to enjoy music, dance, food, arts and traditions from cultures across the world.
It has become a fantastic addition to Warrington’s events calendar and another reason to head into the town centre, enjoy everything happening in Queens Gardens and make a day of it by visiting Warrington’s shops, cafés, bars and restaurants while you’re here.
Warrington Mela is funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), with further funding and in-kind contributions from sponsors and community partners including Culture Warrington, Warrington BID, Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s Safer Communities Fund, the Hoover Foundation, Cheshire Language Academy and Warrington Chamber Plus.
